Aamir Khan and team cancels Laal Singh Chaddha shoot in Ladakh due to Galwan Clash

Post the Sino-India Galwan clash where twenty Indian soldiers died on the de facto border, Aamir Khan has called off the shooting schedule for his new film Laal Singh Chaddha.

The film was supposed to be shot in the region of Ladakh this coming October. However, the cast and crew plan on moving the location to Kargil.

Director Advait Chandan along with Aamir Khan who is also the producer of the film and the rest of the cast have been shooting at Kolkata, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Amritsar until now.

Mid-day in conversation with Viacom 18, the co-production company of the film, has confirmed this news. A source revealed, “Given the current scenario, shooting in Ladakh is out of the question. So, Aamir, Advait and the top brass at the studio are considering shifting the venue to Kargil. The final call will be taken in the coming weeks.”

Aamir Khan has apparently also said that he does not want to risk anyone’s lives because of the pandemic which is why the movie shall resume its shooting only in October. Kareena Kapoor Khan is Aamir’s leading lady in this film.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks.
