Shah Rukh Khan’s Next Film To be Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy on immigration

SRK Fans rejoice! After a long break, the Badshah of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to some action. And this time he’s teaming up with Rajkumar Hirani of PK, 3 Idiots and Sanju fame.

And since Rajkumar Hirani is known for his socially relevant narratives, it’s no surprise to find out that this new film will also be packed with a social message. Hirani has taken up the subject of immigration for his upcoming social comedy with SRK

As per Mumbai Mirror reports, Shah Rukh Khan will be essaying the role of a jovial Punjabi guy in this immigration social comedy which will move between Punjab and Canada. He will also be sporting a long-hair look for his part.

A source revealed, “Like all Raju films, it revolves around a serious, globally relevant issue and is treated with gentle humour. The story moves between Punjab and Canada. This guy is jovial, he’ll make you laugh and get emotional. Shah Rukh is growing his hair for the part.”

It has been written by Kanika Dhillon and Rajkumar Hirani along with Abhijat Joshi. The source added that it was supposed to start shooting in August, but the pandemic affected the plans. Since the film will be requiring a long outdoor shoot abroad, they’re waiting for travel restrictions to ease. It will go on the floors before the year ends when things return to normalcy.

The source commented – “The trio is currently giving the finishing touch to the script, after which the team will chalk out a new schedule.”

Last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero, SRK reportedly rejected 20 scripts before giving a nod to Rajkumar Hiran’s film as his comeback. He also has Raj Nidimoru – Krishna DK’s comic-action thriller in the pipeline. Shah Rukh will also have cameos in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
