‘I will return my Padma Shri’; promises Kangana if she can’t prove her claims in Sushant’s suicide

Ever since the passing away of Sushant Singh Rajput, actress Kangana Ranaut has been extremely vocal about concepts such as nepotism and favouritism in Bollywood.

In an exclusive interview with Arnab Goswami for Republic India, the Manikarnika actress let out a statement saying she will return her Padma Shri if her claims about Sushant Singh’s case cannot be proven.

Arnab Goswami, who is Republic Media Network’s Editor-in-Chief, asked Kangana, “Are you ready to testify before the Mumbai Police or the CBI, whoever takes this up? I am surprised that you are not being questioned because you would be the first point of source of so much information.”

To that Kangana replied, “They summoned me and I asked them to, because I’m in Manali, that you can send somebody to take my statement, but I have not received anything after that. I am telling you, if I have said anything, which I can’t testify, which I can’t prove, and which is not in public domain, I will return my Padma Shri.

“I don’t deserve it. I am giving you an open announcement that if anything that I have said cannot be proved and which is not in public domain, I will return my Padma Shri,” the actress continues.

Ranaut was honoured with the Padma Shri earlier this year, which is the fourth highest civilian award in India.
