SSR Case: CBI Investigation and Vikas Singh Statement

The CBI Investigation in SSR Case has officially started today. The Special Investigation Team arrived in Mumbai yesterday. The agency has created multiple teams to spread out the investigation.

As per TOI report, the entire CBI team has been exempted from quarantine by BMC.

Case Diary and Relevant Documents Collected

The team wasted no time and began their probe in the morning by collecting the case diary, Sushant’s phone, laptop and other forensic data, autopsy reports, photographs, statements, post mortem reports from Mumbai Police. Reports also stated that if required, the team would also speak to the Mumbai Police DCP, to whom Sushant’s family had shared a WhatsApp message in February, regarding threat to the actor’s life. 

Cook Neeraj taken into Custody

As per ABP News, the CBI officials brought Rajput’s cook Neeraj for questioning at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Air Force guest house in suburban Santa Cruz, where the team members are staying. 

To Probe CCTV Tampering Angle

As per Times Now report, the CBI team is also going to probe the CCTV tampering angle in the case as the team has already collected digital video recorders located inside and outside Sushant’s Bandra residence. Sources also say that seized DVRs would be sent to the forensic experts for close inspection.

CBI To Question 5 Doctors Who Conducted Autopsy

Another report by Times Now states that the CBI team will be questioning the 5 doctors of Cooper hospital who conducted Sushant’s autopsy. Reports also suggest that they will be questioned about Rhea Chakraborty’s presence in the hospital on June 15 and who gave her mortuary access. 

SSR Family Lawyer on Rhea’s Mortuary visit

In a statement to ANI, SSR’s Family Lawyer commented on Rhea’s Mortuary visit

“Rhea going to mortuary is very suspicious as she had no relationship with Sushant Singh on day of his death. Mumbai police will have to answer how did they allow her to enter before postmortem. There’s a possibility of tampering with evidence.”

He went on to ask, “After having left the house with all the valuables, what right did she have to be at the morgue? If she had gone there, the cops will have to do a lot of explaining as to how they allowed her to go there when the sister was there and was not called for any legal requirement.”

Mumbai Police officials were also snapped leaving Sushant’s Bandra residence today. 

 According to a report in Times Now, CBI team will also be will be visiting Sushant’s Bandra residence any time now to recreate crime scene. The report added that it has asked the caretaker of the house to keep the keys of the house ready but he hasn’t been informed of the time they would be visiting.
