‘Won’t Tolerate Moves To Finish Off Or Shift Bollywood’; Uddhav Thackeray Breaks Silence

In the aftermath of SSR’s death, from nepotism to drug nexus, Bollywood has been battling with various allegations for months.

Recently, the film industry struck back with a lawsuit against news channels for defamation. Now, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray also broke his silence.

Won’t tolerate move to finish off the film industry – says Uddhav Thackeray

Uddhav Thackeray declared that attempts to ‘malign’, ‘finish off’ the Hindi film industry or ‘to shift it’ will not be tolerated. Recently, Kangana Ranaut has been in the news for calling Bollywood ‘gutter’.

As per NDTV report, at a meeting with multiplex and theatre owners, Uddhav Thackeray said – “Moves to finish off the film industry or shift it elsewhere will never be tolerated.”

“Bollywood enjoys a following across the globe. The film industry generates huge employment. In the last few days, attempts have been made to malign the image of the film industry by certain quarters which is painful,” he said.

His statement about Hindi film industry shifting base seems to be in reference to the recent announcement of BJP government in Uttar Pradesh; about a plan to create a massive film city in Noida to attract film-makers.
