Alia Bhatt will be reuniting with her Gully Boy co-star, Vijay Varma for one of her next projects, produced by Shah Rukh Khan.
The dark comedy revolves around a SoBo mother-daughter duo who kidnap the latter’s abusive husband.
Their life turns upside down when the kidnapped husband goes missing. The drama has been tentatively titled ‘Darlings’ as per Peeping Moon report.
While Vijay Varma has been roped in to play the abusive husband, Peeping Moon report further confirms that Shefali Shah will play mother to Alia Bhatt in this women-led drama. The film is all set to go on floors in April 2021.
“Shefali Shah loved the script and instantly gave her nod. She is very excited to work with her favourite Alia Bhatt for the first time and play her onscreen mother who, along with her daughter, kidnaps latter’s abusive husband in the film. It’s a very fascinating world to explore and Shah is thrilled to be a part of it,” a source familiar with the development said.

Shah was last seen as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in Netflix’s Emmy Awards nominee, Delhi Crime.
Meanwhile, Alia has Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR and Brahmastra in her project line-up.
