Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter Account to be Banned? Plea Filed in Bombay HC

Yesterday, Kangana Ranaut and Diljit Dosanjh had a big face-off on Twitter over farmer’s protests, which escalated rather quickly.

Infamous for her Twitter controversies, Kangana has landed in legal trouble again. A plea has now been filed in Bombay HC demanding her account’s suspension.

Plea to suspend Kangana’s Twitter?

On Thursday, a criminal writ petition was filed in the Bombay High Court seeking direction to Twitter to suspend Ranaut’s Twitter account as it was responsible for “spreading continuous hatred, disharmony in the country and attempting to divide the country with extremist tweets”.

As reported by DNA,  the criminal writ petition has been filed by advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh under Section 482 of the CRPC (Saving of inherent powers of High Court).

A part of the plea reads, “Every Indian citizen has a right to freedom of speech and not freedom of ‘hate speech’ and there are restrictions imposed to the freedom of speech. Yet several people like Ranaut have been spreading hate, breaking the brotherhood, integrity of the country through their time and again provoking hate speeches disrupting the peace in the country.”

The ‘Thalaivi’ actress later reacted to development with a mocking tweet saying that Twitter was not the only platform for her voice as she could summon 1000 cameras with a snap of her fingers.

She further went on to say that ‘tukde gang’ will have to kill her to suppress her voice.
