Here’s The List Of 5 Army Hero Characters In Bollywood!

Today India is celebrating its 73rd National Army Day.

Watching Bollywood actors playing soldiers and army officers in war movies boost our adrenaline several times.

On this special occasion, even Sonu Sood has come out as an Army Officer in his first-ever music video “Pagal Nahi Hona.” This Punjabi song features Sunanda Sharma opposite him.

Here’s a list of 5 Army hero characters of Bollywood:

1. Vicky Kaushal- Major Vihaan Singh Shergill

“How’s the josh?” Actor Vicky Kaushal won millions of hearts and salutes with his role as Major Vihaan Singh Shergill in 2019’s movie ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. This was the first film that was made on India’s surgical strike to take out terrorist launchpads in Pakistan in response to the Uri terror attack in September 2016.

2. Sunny Deol- Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol played the role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in JP Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster movie ‘Border’. Kuldeep Singh, the army officer, was the hero of the 1971 battle of Longewala against Pakistan.

3. Shah Rukh Khan- Major Samar Anand

After the serial ‘Fauji’, Shah Rukh Khan again played the character of an army officer in Yash Chopra‘s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. In this movie, SRK played the character of Major Samar Anand, a soldier (bomb-disposal expert) for the Bomb Disposal Squad.

4. Hrithik Roshan- Lieutenant Karan Shergill

Hrithik Roshan essayed the role of Lieutenant Karan Shergill, who develops from an aimless young man into an army officer, in 2004’s cult-classic movie ‘Lakshya’. The film then shows how his life is turned around when he fought in the 1999 Kargil War.

5. Akshay Kumar- Captain Virat Bakshi

Akshay Kumar‘s character Virat Bakshi was a Captain in D.I.A (Defence Intelligence Agency), a wing of the Indian army and a soldier in the movie ‘Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’. This movie tells the story of an Indian Army Soldier who is on holiday but due to circumstances, he is still saving his nation from the terrorists.
