BMC vs Sonu Sood; Bombay HC REJECTS Sonu Sood’s Plea! Deets Inside

After Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Sood also got into trouble with BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation).

On Jan 4, BMC filed a complaint against Sonu for allegedly converting a residential building into a hotel.

The civic body had claimed that the actor converted the 6-storey Shakti Sagar residential building in Juhu into a hotel without taking the required permissions.

Earlier this month Sonu approached the High Court, challenging an order of a city civil court at Dindoshi that had dismissed his suit against the BMC’s notice issued over the alleged illegal construction carried out by him.

Now, the ANI news reported that the Bombay High Court has dismissed Sonu’s plea and interim application against BMC’s illegal construction notice.

As per PeepingMoon, dismissing Sonu’s appeal and application, Justice Prithviraj Chavan said, “Law helps only those who are diligent.”

“The ball is now in the office of the BMC…you (Sonu Sood) may approach them,” Justice Chavan added. “You (Sonu Sood) are too late. You had ample opportunity,” the judge further stated.

Last year in October, the ‘Simmba’ actor’s lawyer Amogh Singh sought a time of 10 weeks to comply with BMC’s notice and requested the court to direct the civic body not to initiate demolition action.

The court, however, refused and said the actor had ample opportunity in the past.
