Oh no! Tamannaah & Virat Kohli in legal trouble?

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, the Kerala High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Captain Virat Kohli, actors Tamanna Bhatia and Aju Varghese, and the State Government on a plea seeking to ban online gambling.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice S Manikumar and Anil K Narendran issued a notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition filed by Pauly Vadakkan.

Petitioner Pauly Vadakkan has alleged that online gambling is now a growing menace in the state and the primary targets will be middle to low-income group people who will be enticed to make easy money.

“These platforms that are even endorsed by celebrities attract their audience with false promise, easily making a fool of unsuspecting people. Primary targets will be middle to low-income people who are enticed to make easy money. People fall prey to these fraud platforms only to lose what is left of their life’s savings. There have been reports of such scams from across the state,” the petition states as Live Law reported.

“Online Rummy games are becoming more and more popular. It should be legally prohibited. Other states have done the same. Kerala has a 1960 law. But no other steps have been taken. It does not include the topic of online rummy. The stars, who are the brand ambassadors, attracted the audience and took part in the competition. Online Rummy is within the limits of gambling,” the petitioner also alleged.

The court has directed them to respond within 10 days. Besides them, the Kerala government also has been issued notice.
