Bigg Boss 13 contestant Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with her hit 2000’s song ‘Kaanta Laga’.
The actress is now happily married to Television actor Parag Tyagi.
Did you know Shefali was earlier married to music composer Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros? A few years ago, the duo got hitched, and reportedly after 5 years of their marriage, they got separated. Reportedly, while filing for the divorce, Shefali had accused Harmeet of domestic violence.
Recently, during an interview with Times Now, the Kaanta Laga girl talked about her failed marriage with Harmeet and how it was ‘mentally violent’ for her.
Talking about her divorce, she said, “It is very important to understand that you are not being appreciated. Not every kind of violence is physical. There is a lot of mental violence that also happens and you are very unhappy in your life. I think, one of the reasons why I could make the decision for myself, was because I was independent.”
“I was making my own money. The biggest fear in our country is of society. Divorce is considered to be taboo but the way I have been raised, is to not really care about society but just do what we feel is right. I could take such steps in my life and had strong support,“ Shefali added.
In 2014, Shefali tied the knot with Parag and often set relationship goals with their PDA on Instagram.
