Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora had everyone shocked when they openly began dating over a year ago.
The couple have shared adorable pictures on social media and have embraced a life together. However, reactions to their relationship were quite mixed.
Arjun and Malaika have a 12 year age gap which apparently did not settle well with netizens. Arjun, in a recent interview, firmly yet subtly shut down all gossip and bad-mouthing related to his strong relationship.
Malaika was earlier married to Arbaz Khan and they share a son – Arhaan Khan. Kapoor, who doesn’t like addressing his relationship publicly, says that it is because he wants to respect his partner and her past. “I don’t try and be overly talkative about my personal life, because I feel you should respect your partner, and there is a past there… And I’ve been in that situation where I’ve seen things pan out publicly and it’s not always very nice, because there are kids affected,” Arjun says, as per THIS report.
“I try and keep a respectful boundary. I do what she’s comfortable with. And my career should not hinge on my relationship. So you have to create boundaries. I talk about it today because there is a certain respect and regard given to the relationship. We have given it time. I have tried to give it a certain amount of dignity by giving it space, and not having it be in your face,” the actor continues.
Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have been giving us couple goals for a very long time now. Arjun had earlier revealed that even if he wanted to get married, the chances were extremely slim because of the ongoing pandemic.
