Neena later married chartered accountant Vivek Mehra in 2008, but she confessed to being ‘quite alone in her prime years’.

“While I was writing the book, I realised in my prime years I have been without a lover or husband. Because I came here, then small affairs, nothing really materialised. Basically, I was all alone,” the Sardar Ka Grandson actress revealed.

She has also opened up on being DUMPED on the verge of getting MARRIED!

Talking about the ‘ex’ she said – “I have talked about that guy I was gonna get married and last minute, I had gone to get my clothes made in Delhi, he called up and he said, ‘I don’t want to marry you.’ Till today I don’t know why. But what can I do? I moved on. I would have loved to get married to him. I had a lot of respect for his father, mother. I was living in their house. He’s going to read, he’s alive, he’s happily married. He has children.”

“People say I lived my life on my own terms. Actually, I never did. Wherever I went wrong, I accepted it and moved forward. I wanted to have a normal husband, children, my in-laws. When I see other people I do feel a little envious. I did not blame, I did not become alcoholic, because what I wanted I did not get,” she said.

Neena also revealed that her close actor friend and filmmaker Satish Kaushik had offered to marry her when she was pregnant with cricketer Vivian Richards’ child out of wedlock!

He had told her – “Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.”

‘Sach Kahun Toh’ truly promises to be an interesting read about the filmi life of this fascinating actress – from her personal struggles to professional comeback. Neena Gupta has worked in films like Mandi, Utsav, Badhaai Ho, Panga, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Sardar Ka Grandson and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
