“I Was Told To Get Some Body Parts Corrected”- Radhika Madan Recalls Her AUDITION DAYS!

The cute & talented actress Radhika Madan’s transition from TV to movies is an inspiration to many.

She wowed her fans, including critics, with her performance in Netflix’s anthology ‘Ray’.

Radhika started with Colors’ popular daily soap ‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’ and later made her Bollywood debut with Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Pataakha’.

However, her journey hasn’t always been an easy ride. Talking to Humans Of Bombay, the ‘Angrezi Medium’ actress recalled the struggles and rejections that she had faced when she decided to quit TV to enter into Bollywood. Radhika also made some shocking revelations about her audition days when she was told to “get some body parts corrected”.

“I was told I needed to have a particular shape, size, and height. I was also told I need to get surgery or get some body parts corrected. And I always questioned that because mujhe toh main bahut sahi lagti hun (I find myself great). Who are these people to tell me I’m not pretty? But for the next 1.5 years, I didn’t get work. And it’s very easy to doubt yourself at such a time, but I knew that the journey is more important than the destination. In fact, I made a conscious effort to have a blast at my auditions. And before long, I signed my first film as other projects followed,” the 26-year-old revealed.

She further added, “I remember I’d gained 12 kgs for a role to look older, & I auditioned for a 17-year-old character, both in a month! But I had only one motto–just have fun! That audition turned out to be one of my best & I got the part! I think the key is to love yourself fiercely because what you see in yourself is what others see in you. If I’d been insecure, people would’ve fed on that fear. So whether it’s as a kid who didn’t care about her unibrow or an adult who thinks her height is cute, I celebrated my imperfections. I know I don’t have to fit someone else’s definition of perfection–I’m imperfectly perfect & I love it!”

On the work front, Radhika will next be seen in Netflix’s another upcoming anthology series ‘Feels Like Ishq’, slated to release on July 23. Besides that, she also has a movie titled ‘Shiddat’ and Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Saas, Bahu Aur Cocaine’ lined up in her kitty.
