Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is the 1st big movie to open in theatres in the pandemic scenario.
Covid-19 has affected its box office collection though, as the movie opened in limited theatres across India.
Buzz about Bell Bottom’s OTT release has already started. As per Bollywood Hungama, makers might stream the movie digitally after 4 weeks of its theatrical run.
A source told the portal – “Amazon Prime Video has already acquired the streaming rights of Bellbottom and will premiere the film on its OTT streaming platform.
The producer Vashu Bhagnani wanted to premiere the film on OTT two weeks after its release. However, with national multiplex chains negotiating the theatrical release and terms, Bhagnani finally settled for four weeks.”
Though the OTT release date has not been locked yet, it can be out any time after September 15. The espionage spy thriller also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta. It is based on the plane hijacks in India in the early 1980s.
Meanwhile, Akshay’s upcoming movie line-up includes – Atrangi Re, Raksha Bandhan, Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj, Ram Setu and Cinderella. He is reuniting with Bell Bottom director for yet another movie as well.
