5 Bollywood Movies Rejected By Rajkummar Rao!

The talented Rajkummar Rao celebrates his 37th birthday today!

Be it intense roles in Citylights, Aligarh…cute rom-coms like Bareilly Ki Barfi or playing it goofy in horror-comedies like Stree and Roohi… this versatile guy aces it all!

Rajkummar truly has carved his space in Bollywood as a power-packed performer with a penchant for strong, content-oriented roles. But did you know, Rajkummar has reportedly turned down quite a few projects? Some of them might surprise you.

5 Movies Allegedly Rejected By Rajkummar Rao:

1) Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

If this TOI report is to be believed then, Rajkummar Rao had been offered the role of Ayushmann Khurrana’s gay partner in the romance drama Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.

However, Rajkummar allegedly turned down the part since Ayushmann had a meatier role in it and he didn’t want to play second fiddle.

2) Chhapaak

Vikrant Massey played a pivotal role as a social activist/partner of an acid attack survivor (played by Deepika Padukone) in Chhapaak.

Rajkummar was the 1st choice but he had to regretfully opt-out – “I loved that script but my dates were so messed up. I kept telling Meghna and Deepika that it’s my loss,” he’d told Quint.

3) Dostana 2

The sequel of 2008 rom-com Dostana had hit the headlines after Kartik Aaryan was shockingly dropped from the project.

Kartik dropped from Dostana 2, Rajkummar was 1st choice

As per First Post, Rajkummar was initially approached for Dostana 2 but he had to reject the project as his dates were committed to The White Tiger with Priyanka Chopra.

4) Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Before Kartik Aaryan was finalized, Rajkummar too was in the running for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

However, since he has already worked in the horror-comedy space with Stree franchise, he allegedly didn’t want to repeat the genre.

5) Bank Chor

It was also rumoured that Rajkummar was given a negative role in the Riteish Deshmukh starrer Bank Chor.

As per Bollywood Life, he’d turned down the role as he wasn’t allegedly ready to get into the ‘villain’ category.
