Veteran actress Saira Banu, wife of the late Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar, was recently in the news for being hospitalized.
The 77-year old was admitted into the ICU of Hinduja Hospital a few days back, following complaints of breathlessness, high blood pressure and high sugar.
She has now been diagnosed with a heart condition – acute coronary syndrome. She has been advised to undergo angiography.
It was being reported that Saira ji was battling depression after Dilip Kumar’s death and was avoiding the angiography procedure. However, Dr Gokhale from the hospital refuted the rumours – “Saira-ji is not battling depression, plus she is not being difficult at all which in other words means she is not avoiding angiography. The angiography, as I told you last time, will be done at a later date after we control her diabetes. So where’s the question of her saying ‘no’ to it?”
The late Dilip Kumar’s spokesperson and family friend Faisal Faaroqui has now given an update on her health on Twitter – she’s been discharged and is stable currently.
