Storyline

Vibhooti (Saif Ali Khan) and Chiraunji (Arjun Kapoor) are the descendants of a line of priests (Ullat Baba and Sons) who deal with exorcisms and spirits. However, having been orphaned at a very young age, Vibhooti and Chiraunji are left with nothing but their ancestral legacy and a holy book filled with mantras written by their father. While the younger Chiraunji is more of a righteous path, Vibhooti finds ways to con people and extract revenue from them.

The two are always off hunting ghosts in different parts of towns and end up solving all the cases which coincidentally aren’t really ‘supernatural’. However, they stumble across Maya (Yami Gautam), a landowner who believes the spirit that haunts her town has come back. Maya and her sister Kanika welcome the two ‘bhoot police’ into their lodging home and patiently wait for them to get rid of the ghost.

What we think?

The highly dramatized film ‘Bhoot Police’ is hilarious and has some of the best punchlines we could’ve expected. Not such a horror, more of a comedy. That’s the main observation at the hit of the final scene. The talented cast is naturally a bonus.

Saif Ali Khan‘s performance in the film wouldn’t really pass as his best with the number of blockbusters he’s given us before. However, his character portrayal (without any spoilers given) towards the end of the movie is extremely commendable. Arjun Kapoor stole the show with his witty and innocent ‘Chiraunji’ persona. There’s nothing cuter than a hunky man getting all shy and serious at the same time.

Our leading ladies Jacqueline and Yami were the sprinkles on this stunning cake, only making it all the more talented and pretty of a package. However, one performance we definitely cannot miss is that of Jamie Lever, a comedian who knows her art. The unforgettable moment where she sings to help her husband defecate well or the part where she feeds her husband her special ‘mutton’, it’s all a masterpiece.

Hit or Miss?

We definitely think Bhoot Police is a HIT! The film not only has a whirlwind of all the comedies possible but is also quite the stress reliever.
