When Late Singer Bappi Lahiri Called Himself The ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ Of The Music Industry!

At the age of 69, singer Bappi Lahiri breathed his last on the 15th of February after suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

We’re recalling the late legend and that moment when he called himself the ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ of the music industry.

Way back in the 1990’s, Bappida was all anyone would talk and sing about! He’s known for iconic pieces like ‘Tune Maari Entry’, ‘Yaad Aa Raha Hai’, ‘Banna Banni’, ‘Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re’, and more.

When asked about who he thinks of as competition within the industry he said, “In film industry, there is Amitabh Bachchan and in music industry, there is Bappida. But Amitabh Bachchan is 12 years older than me.”

A report also quotes him mentioning International musicians who he stated dressed like him! There is no competition, but there are singers who dress like me. Among women, there’s Beyonce and there’s Shakira and among men, there is 50 Cent, Eminem and definitely, Akon… said Bappida.
