Indian celebrities have a fan following worldwide but they still faced situations where their identity for mistaken for someone else.

As per reports, here are 5 times Bollywood celebrities were mistaken for other people.

1- Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor was mistaken as Deepika Padukone at Cannes 2017. Sonam’s pictures from the event were shared on a stock photo agency as ‘Indian actress Deepika Padukone’.

2- Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone’s identity has also been mistaken in the past. Deepika was mistaken as Priyanka Chopra on one of her trips to Los Angeles. On being asked about the incident, the actress termed it as ‘racism’.

At a Cannes press event in 2017, Deepika addressed the incident and said, “It’s not just me being offended. Everyone should be offended. It is not just ignorance, it is racist. Two people of the same color aren’t the same. You should educate them and not encourage them.

3- Priyanka Chopra

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra was mistaken as the daughter of Indian-born American author Deepak Chopra by Rosie O’Donnell. The actress responded to O’Donnell‘s public apology with a note that said, “We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as ‘someone’ or ‘wife’, especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in will be amazing.”

4- Mallika Sherawat

Long back even Mallika Sherawat was mistaken for Bond girl Stephanie Sigman. Foreign media could not differentiate between Mallika and the Mexican star.

5- Minissha Lamba

Indian actress Minissha Lamba also found herself mistaken for fellow Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actress, who walked the red carpet at the Cannes event, was tagged as Ash on media portals.
