What Do We Think?

It’s the same wine in a different bottle!

Even though it is packed with love, betrayal, action and double-crossing, Codename: Tiranga still feels like an extremely predictable movie. Stuffed with all the cliches. It is like a soggy bhelpuri of Raazi, Fanaa and Ek Tha Tiger.

The screenplay is packed with action but the bland storyline fails to elevate the script. Parineeti Chopra is regrettably wasted in this role. Her action form is strong but the mediocre execution holds her back. It is a big BLAH.

We have her paired against Harrdy – and on paper, the duo make for a hella attractive couple. But the chemistry doesn’t materialize as the love story is very cheesy and the romantic tracks in the background are rather forgettable. Doesn’t make you root for the two.

Sharad Kelkar is the main antagonist and he’s in top form. Rajit Kapur and Dibyendu Bhattacharya have performed decently but the script is a let-down. Harrdy, who’s proven his acting chops in 83, is underutilized here.

Overall, a rather monotonous film with yawn-inducing moments despite the constant action.

Hit Or Miss?

This one is a miss at the theatres, unless you’re a hardcore Parineeti or Harrdy fan.
