Shanaya Kapoor is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, where she stars opposite Vikrant Massey.
While many believed the role was simply offered to her, director Santosh Singh clarified that this wasn’t the case.
In a recent conversation with Mid-Day, director Santosh Singh revealed that Shanaya Kapoor earned the role through her dedication, talent, and relentless effort. “The process of casting the female lead had its own journey,” he shared. “We initially considered Tara Sutaria and Pratibha Ranta for the part, but scheduling conflicts got in the way. When we auditioned Shanaya, she impressed us immensely and cleared the test with flying colours.”
He further shared that Shanaya Kapoor secured the role through a thorough audition process and dedicated herself to months of intense preparation. “We conducted four months of workshops with her, and she also trained under an acting coach. By the time filming began, she had the entire script memorised.”
Shanaya Kapoor’s role in Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan was reportedly a tough one to nail. However, the young actor is deliberately opting for unconventional roles early in her career, making a sincere effort to bring authenticity and depth to each character she portrays.
Santosh Singh’s remarks underscore Shanaya’s commitment and signal the beginning of a new chapter in her career—one shaped by talent, hard work, and genuine passion. Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan is slated for release on July 11, 2025.
