Ranveer’s Daiva mimicry controversy has resurfaced and turned legal now
FIR has been registered against Ranveer at Bengaluru’s High Grounds Police Station
the row started back in nov 2025, during an IFFI Goa event
on stage, Ranveer mimicked a Daiva scene from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1
The act triggered major backlash & many accused him of mocking sacred traditions of coastal Karnataka
The complaint also mentions that ranveer called the revered Chavundi Daiva as a “female ghost,” which was insulting to religious beliefs
last year, when the controversy had spiralled, ranveer had apologised for hurting sentiments
despite the apology, an FIR has been filed under Sections 196, 299 and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
