Varma failed to comply with the court’s directives and repeatedly missed appearances, causing delays in the proceedings
after seven years, Varma was found guilty of violating
Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act
His absence from the court on the day of the verdict prompted the Magistrate to issue a standing
non-bailable warrant (NBW) for his arrest
Varma has been ordered to pay
₹3.72 lakh
as compensation to the complainant within three months
Failure to pay this amount will result in an
additional three months
of simple imprisonment
