Netflix’s Lineup of 17 Originals includes these 12 Indian films

The OTT space is really booming and changing the film game during the pandemic! And Netflix is all set to thoroughly entertain with its exciting line-up of 17 titles ranging from thrillers, comedies to romance and drama.

The streaming platform announced 17 upcoming originals12 being films and 5 web series. 

Take a look at the 12 Films that will have a Netflix premiere soon:

1) Ludo

Anurag Basu’s Ludo is a comedy featuring an ensemble cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi and Pearle Maaney.

2) Torbaaz

The Sanjay Dutt starrer Torbaaz is an upcoming action thriller about child suicide bombers in Afghanistan and how a man transforms the life of children in a refugee camp with the game of cricket. It also stars Nargis Fakhri, Rahul Dev, Pransh Chopra and Humayoon Shams Khan.

3) Raat Akeli Hai

This Radhika Apte-Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer is a mystery crime thriller revolving around a tough cop’s investigation of a high profile murder in a small town. It will also feature Shweta Tripathi, Ila Arun, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shivani Raghuvanshi.

4) Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare

This Konkona Sen-Bhumi Pednekar starrer is a satire comedy. It will revolve around two cousins with a complicated love-hate equation, who enable each other to find freedom while navigating womanhood, sisterhood and love.

5) Ginny Weds Sunny

Ginny Weds Sunny is a romantic comedy featuring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey. Yami Gautam shared the first look of the movie with caption – “A match-maker by profession, this mother is determined to write a fairy tale love story for her daughter who clearly has other plans. Will it really be Sunny in paradise for Ginny?”

6) Bombay Rose

Award winning filmmaker Gitanjali Rao’s Bombay Rose follows the story of a young club dancer living in the streets of Bombay, having escaped a child marriage. She must choose between fending for her family and finding love with a Kashmiri boy orphaned by the militancy.

7) Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl 

Starring Janhvi Kapoor in the titular role of Gunjan Saxena, this film is based on the true and inspiring story of India’s first woman Air Force Officer to go to war. It will premiere on 12 August 2020!

8) Tribhanga: Tedhi Meri Crazy

This one is a dysfunctional family drama starring Kajol Devgn, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar! It will revolve around the lives of three women from the same family, belonging to different generations. 

9) Kaali Khuhi

Kaali Khuhi is a horror film starring Shabana Azmi, Riva Arora, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Satyadeep Mishra. Set in a Punjab village with a history of female infanticide and mysterious deaths of its residents, it is up to 10-year-old Shivangi to be its saviour.

10) Serious Men

This Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer is based on Manu Joseph’s book Serious Men. It follows a slum dweller’s rags to riches story using his son’s newfound fame as a boy-genius. 

11) Class of ‘83

This cop drama marks Bobby Deol’s digital debut. Based on the novel ‘The Class of 83’ by Sayyed Yunus Hussain Zaidi, the film follows the story of a policeman-turned police instructor Vijay Singh who helps his students grapple with the complexities of honour, morals and devotion towards their nation.

12) AK vs AK

Starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, AK vs AK is a dark comedy revolving around a brash film director who kidnaps a movie star’s daughter and films the star’s desperate search for his daughter in real-time as his next blockbuster.
