NCB Registers Case Against Rhea Chakraborty under NDPS Act

The Enforcement Directorate had written to Narcotics Control Bureau asking them to probe the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. NCB Director Rakesh Asthana had confirmed that they would be stepping in.

As per latest report from India Today, NCB has registered a case under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. It has also booked Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others, against whom the ED had prepared a case.

The report further says that apart from Rhea and Showik, Jaya Saha, Shruti Modi and Gaurav Arya, an alleged Pune-based drug peddler who is currently active in Goa will also be investigated.

Times Now had previously reported that Rhea allegedly gave CBD oil (Cannabidiol oil) to Sushant, which is banned and illegal.

Earlier, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde had made a statement – “Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life time ever. She’s ready for a blood test any time.”

Times Now also stated that CBI had got hold of drug conspiracy documents and it will soon summon Rhea, Shruti Modi, Jaya Saha and Dipesh after recording the statements.
