Based on the lives of rappers DIVINE and NaezyGully Boy follows a Muslim rapper (played by Ranveer), who struggles to break away from the oppressive class structure while looking for the right opportunity to propel his musical career. The film grossed ₹165.58 crore in India and $9.6 million (₹72.58 crore) overseas, taking its worldwide gross to ₹238 crores.

#2 Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

One of the most popular movies of Zoya Akhtar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara can be called as her breakthrough movie in the Bollywood industry. The plot of the movie revolves around the lives of 3 friends- Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol on a bachelorette in Spain. The movie was a hit at the box office & one of the highest-grossing movies of 2011 with a box office collection of ₹153 crores.

#3 Dil Dhadakne Do

Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do was a treat to watch due to the picturesque locations it was shot in. Lucky By Chance was a story about a boy who gets the chance to play the male lead in a Bollywood film and he can’t believe his luck. Featuring Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen in lead roles the movie did moderately well at the box office making a collection of ₹29 crores.
