Konkona Won National Film Award For THESE Movies!

The powerhouse of talent, Konkona Sen turned 41 today and her versatility has impressed one and all.

She started her career as a child artist in Bengali film and has grabbed several awards in her career, including two National Film Awards. Let’s have a look at them below.

1- Mr and Mrs Iyer

Konkona Sen played the role of Meenakshi Iyer, a  Tamil Iyer brahmin and Rahul Bose play a Bengali Muslim wildlife photographer, Raja Chowdhury. The film is about the experiences of these two characters that revolve around a fateful bus journey amidst communal strife in India. Konkona Sen has won a National Film Award for Best Actress for this movie.

2- Omkara

Konkona Sen was much appreciated for her role of Indu Tyagi in Omkara. The character of Indu is the wife of Langda Tyagi and lives a bittersweet life. Konkona has won multiple awards for this role. Including a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, Konkona also won Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and Zee Cine Award Best Actor in a Supporting Role

Apart from the National Awards, Konkona Sen has won some more awards for her other performances as well.

Konkona Sen was seen as Madhavi Sharma in Page 3 who reaches Mumbai in the dream of becoming a journalist. She begins her career by working for Page 3 and entering the world of the glamorous celebrity lifestyle. Konkona was awarded Best female debut at Zee Cine Awards for this movie.

4- Life in a… Metro

One of the Bollywood blockbusters, Life in a … Metro saw Konkona as a lovelorn but charming woman with great finesse. Konkona won Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award.

5- Lipstick Under My Burkha

Konkona plays the role of a Muslim wife who strives hard to hide her job as a saleswoman to maintain her peace at home. She is shown as a victim to sexual abuse. She won Best Actress at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Best Actress (Critics) at Screen Awards that year for her performance.
