As the actor turns 56 today, let’s take a look at the 6 Movies Rejected by Aamir Khan.

1- Hum Aapke Hai Kaun

This family drama is one of the most loved Bollywood movies and showed Salman Khan as the lead and boosted his popularity to another level. However, this role was initially offered to Aamir Khan. Aamir being quite choosy with films turned down the offer stating he didn’t find the script appealing.

2- Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge 

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is to date making rounds of the theaters and proved to be a turning point in romance king, Shahrukh Khan’s career. But, Shahrukh Khan’s role was first offered to Aamir Khan who decided not to do it. In the year in which SRK’s DDLJ was released, Aamir’s Rangeela also hit the silver screen. SRK won several awards for DDLJ and Aamir felt he should have also won an award for Rangeela.

3- Swades

Ashutosh Gowariker and Aamir Khan built up a good rapport while working together in Lagaan and seem to be very compatible work-wise. Thus Ashutosh Gowariker offered his next project Swades to Aamir Khan but Aamir decided to turn it down claiming he did not find the plot to be very interesting.

4- Mohabbatein 

Mohabbatein is again one of the hit love stories turned down by Aamir Khan and it’s none of a surprise that the movie went to Shah Rukh Khan who portrayed the role of Raj Aryan. The movie was a hit and is loved by many even today.

5- Dil To Pagal Hai

Dil To Pagal Hai was another hit that showed Shahrukh Khan in the male lead. Before Shahrukh Khan was chosen to charm us over the screen, his role was offered to Aamir Khan. But, Aamir Khan turned down the movie as he did not find the script intriguing.

6-Bajrangi Bhaijaan

One of the most loved movies of Salman Khan, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was first given in the hands of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. Aamir Khan turned down the offer for Bajrangi Bhaijaan because he wanted to make some changes to the script which the director refused. However, the audience loved the movie and the plot both.
