Raj Kundra Case Updates: Bombay High Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Immediate Release!

Recently, the Mumbai Police crime branch had lodged a fresh FIR in connection with the case, which is still under investigation.

Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19th and subsequently was sent into judicial custody after which he and MMA referee Ryan Thorpe challenged their remand to custody.

Now, ANI has reported that the Bombay High Court on Saturday has dismissed their appeal.

“Bombay High Court dismisses businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe’s applications challenging magistrate court’s remand order and seeking immediate release,” says the tweet.

Sourced from a Pinkvilla report, Bombay HC’s Justice AS Gadkari mentioned in his order dismissing Raj Kundra and Ryan’s plea that the remand order was in conformity with the law. He said, “The remand to custody by the Metropolitan Magistrate is within the conformity of law and does not require any interference.” This was stated after Kundra’s lawyer called the arrest ‘illegal’ in their plea.

Additionally, Raj Kundra’s bail plea application along with Ryan Thorpe is scheduled to be heard in Mumbai Sessions Court on August 10.

Kundra’s wife Shilpa Shetty had recently filed a 25 crore defamation suit against certain media organisations for publishing allegedly false and malicious content.
