Storyline

This is not your ordinary fairytale movie. It all stems from the birth of a boy who knew exactly what and who he wanted to be growing up. Vikram Batra, merely 10 years of age, has written down his destiny and seeks to follow that exact path. The opening is a young boy, fiery eyes and a calming smile, on his way to bring back a cricket ball from a bunch of grown-up bullies. His younger brother tries stopping him but to no avail. With determination as his right-hand man (or should we say emotion?) young Vikram succeeded and walked away victoriously.

While facing the fight’s music at home, this is when we realise just how brave he is. Convinced, he’s going to join the army, he tries explaining the same to his doting father. Fast forward to an older version of Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra), he is on the way to make his dreams reality. Now enters his lady love Dimple Cheema (Kiara Advani) who not only supports his career choice but also sets a strong foot down at home while convincing her family to let her wed Vikram.

After years of hard work and intense training, the man goes from just Vikram to Lieutenant Vikram Batra. While learning the ways of the army, he faces severe hardships but victoriously emerges from them all. And without a single spoiler, we urge you to watch the movie (if you haven’t already) in order to understand the biggest hurdle of them all!

What we think

We think Shershaah brings out the best in both Sidharth and Kiara. While Sidharth is the main focus of the film, our leading lady’s presence brings all the more smiles onto our faces. Sidharth is in a never before seen character and we love the look on him. He’s fierce, got that powerful look down and best of all, he’s charming even on the field.

Kiara is playing the next-door sweetheart and she’s done a fabulous job at it. All we can say wholeheartedly now is that the wait was worth it.

Hit or Miss

We’d call this film nothing less than a HIT. As the famous Sheershaah phrase goes, dil definitely maange more. From the acting to the direction, there’s not a single boring moment for a viewer to pick on.
