Akshay Kumar & Katrina Kaif’s recently released movie ‘Sooryavanshi’ has already taken the entire nation by storm.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the blockbuster cop-drama was released in theatres on November 5, 2021.
Within a week of its release, ‘Sooryavanshi’ has crossed the Rs 100-crore-mark at the box office (worldwide).
Now, if this media report is to be believed, the makers of ‘Sooryavanshi’ – Reliance Entertainment & Rohit Shetty – have supposedly cracked a whopping amount of Rs 100 CRORES with Netflix. The movie is expected to stream on the said OTT platform from December 4, 2021.
“Sooryavanshi will premiere on Netflix a month after its theatrical release, stepping aside from the conventional eight-week window. And for breaking the norm in these uncertain times, Netflix has paid a premium price to Rohit Shetty and Reliance Entertainment. While the earlier deal was cracked at approx. Rs. 75 crores, the team of Sooryavanshi has fetched Rs. 100 crores from Netflix for its premiere on December 4,” a source informed the portal.
Reportedly, Netflix had allegedly offered a Rs 150 crore deal (approx) to the makers for a direct-to-digital premiere. However, Rohit and his team had always wanted to go for an exclusive theatrical release for ‘Sooryavanshi’.
