Tera Kya Hoga Lovely Movie Review:

Tera Kya Hoga Lovely works well on the comedy front but loses out on making effective social commentary on dowry and skin-colour discrimination.

Though it is well-acted, it could have benefitted from a tighter plot. While the stolen dowry truck subplot and the subsequent cat-and-mouse chase game is admittedly funny enough, the social messaging gets sidelined in between all the shenanigans. And the preaching ends up getting shoehorned into the ending scenes with cheesy dialogues instead.

Tera Kya Hoga Lovely Movie Review:

Ileana D’Cruz and Randeep Hooda individually perform well but the rom-com chemistry between the couple is lacklustre. Ileana gives a compelling and competent performance but the shoddy blackface make-up ends up being distracting. Plus using dusky make-up, instead of casting a dark-skinned actor in her place defeats the point that the movie is trying to make. Ileana is wonderfully expressive with her eyes though. But she is let down by the script.

Tera Kya Hoga Lovely Movie Review

The comic timing of Randeep Hooda is good and he has nailed the dialect too. His wry humour and sharp delivery hit the nail right on the head. Geeta Agarwal as Randeep’s Mom is absolutely hilarious and brings the house down with her snarky role.

Karan Kundra is endearing as Lovely’s best friend and he amps up the comic factor. Overall, Tera Kya Hoga Lovely is funny, feel-good comedy but it loses the plot in the middle and fails to deliver any impactful social critique.
