Raid 2 Movie Review; Ajay Devgn Starrer Lacks The Punch Of 1st Part, Riteish Deshmukh Aces The Villain Act

Storyline:
IRS officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) is back on duty, this time targeting the powerful and sharp-witted politician Manohar Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh).
Known for his clean image and generous acts of philanthropy, Manohar Bhai seems untouchable on the surface. But Patnaik suspects there’s more beneath the polished exterior. What begins as a routine income tax raid quickly turns into a tense cat-and-mouse game, with Patnaik trying to uncover hidden black money and expose deep-rooted scams. The stakes keep rising as the chase gets more dangerous, putting both his mission and his life at risk.
Vaani Kapoor plays Amay’s supportive wife, while Amit Sial steps in as Lallan Sudheer, a colleague whose loyalties are not so clear. Saurabh Shukla as Tauji, enjoys the chaos from the sidelines this time.

Raid 2 Movie Review:
Raid 2 kicks off with promise, reuniting us with Ajay Devgn’s intense IRS officer Amay Patnaik as he locks horns with a new adversary. This time, it’s the smooth-talking, seemingly squeaky-clean politician Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. The setup is solid and the stakes are high, but the film quickly begins to drag with a meandering narrative that loses steam halfway through.
Ajay Devgn brings back his signature stoicism and no-nonsense intensity from the first film. He’s convincing as the upright officer, but the lack of emotional range makes the performance feel repetitive. It’s mostly brooding, with not much else.
Riteish Deshmukh, on the other hand, is a scene-stealer. He nails the part of the cunning antagonist with his menacing body language and sharp expressions. His eyes do a lot of the talking, and the confrontation scenes between him and Devgn give the film its most gripping moments. If only his character had been fleshed out a bit more, the face-off would have had even more impact.
Raid 2 Movie Review:
The film falters with its pacing. A sudden item number featuring Tamannaah Bhatia feels forced and breaks the tension, halting the already slow-moving story. Amit Sial adds some comic relief as the dubious Lallan Sudheer, bringing lightness to the otherwise serious tone. Saurabh Shukla makes a quick appearance and seems to be having the time of his life, though it doesn’t add much to the plot.
Vaani Kapoor, unfortunately, is miscast. Her role as Amay’s wife is barely relevant, and her presence could easily have been left out without affecting the film.
The climax adds some action and wraps things up just enough to shake off the earlier dull moments. But overall, the film doesn’t pack the punch or tension of the original. Raid 2 tries to dig deep, but ends up feeling flat.
