It’s been five years since we lost Sushant Singh Rajput, and yet, his absence still feels surreal. He wasn’t just an actor… he was a curious mind, a dreamer, a science geek, and so much more.

Sushant was a man of many talents, with varied interests ranging from cricket, astronomy to experiential technology! From buying a piece of land on the moon to owning expensive instruments, as well as his many incredible accomplishments – there is a myriad of fascinating trivia about the TV-star-turned-Bollywood actor!

1) Academic Accomplishment

Sushant Singh Rajput had scored an All India Rank of 7 in Delhi College of Engineering Entrance Examination in 2003. He was also a National level Olympiad winner in Physics!

2) Background Dancer

Before the fame, he was part of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s dance troupe. He even performed as a background dancer at award shows – talk about humble beginnings!

3) Ambidextrous 

Sushant could write with both hands – a rare skill known as ambidexterity. Just one more example of his unique brilliance.

4) He Literally Owned A Piece of the Moon

That’s right! He bought land on the moon in a region called ‘Mare Moscoviense’ (also known as the Sea of Moscovy). He was obsessed with astronomy and even owned a powerful Meade 14” LX-600 telescope to admire the skies.

5) Went to NASA

SSR was to star in the space movie ‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’ as an astronaut. The actor had even taken training at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and interacted with real-life astronauts to gain valuable insights into life aboard a spaceship. 

6) Flying Dream

One of the dreams on his famous list of 50 was ‘learn to fly’.He took that seriously and bought a Boeing 737 flight simulator for practice – which can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $4 million!

7) Entrepreneur in Experiential Technology

Sushant was also an entrepreneur – he had founded a company in 2019 dealing with artificial intelligence, mixed reality and experiential technology.

He had named this company after girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. The company was registered as ‘Vividrage Rhealityx Private Limited’.

8) Dreams 150

Sushant was working on a film titled Geniuses and Dropouts; a personal passion project. It was also known by another name: Dreams 150.

Even after five years, it’s hard to believe someone so talented, curious, and full of dreams is no longer with us. But through his work and the life he lived, Sushant continues to inspire millions to chase their passions, unapologetically and fearlessly. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
