Guru Randhawa has taken a dig at Diljit Dosanjh over his decision of working with Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3 after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Guru Randhawa took to X to share a pointed message that many believe was directed at Diljit Dosanjh. In his post, Guru appeared to remind Diljit of his roots, writing,”Lakh pardesi hoyieee. Apna desh nhi bhandi daa. Jehre mulk da khayie us da bura nhi mangi da. Even if now your citizenship is not Indian, you were born here—please remember that. This country has created incredible artists, and we should all be proud of it. Be proud of where you were born. Just sharing some advice. Let’s not spark another controversy or mislead Indians. LOL. PR > Artist (sic).”

The post quickly gained attention online, with many users linking it to the controversy surrounding Sardaar Ji 3. Shortly after the buzz around the tweet intensified, Guru Randhawa deactivated his X account.

For those unaware, Sardaar Ji 3, starring and co-produced by Diljit Dosanjh, faced backlash after its trailer dropped on June 22, revealing Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in a lead role. The film, which hits overseas theatres today, stirred controversy in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Following the incident, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterated its ban on Pakistani artistes working in Indian productions. To avoid further backlash, Diljit and the team chose not to release the film in India.

Addressing the criticism in an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit defended the decision, explaining that significant producer investment was at stake and that the film had been shot well before the tragic events in Pahalgam occurred.
