War 2 Movie Review: Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR Spy Saga Excels On Action Front, Glosses Over Emotions
Rating: 3/5
Director: Ayan Mukerji
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, Kiara Advani
Storyline:
Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan), once India’s top intelligence agent and now a man on the run, makes a shocking move by killing Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana).
The new RAW Chief (Anil Kapoor), wastes no time in assigning the job to take Kabir down to Major Vikram (Jr NTR).
But this mission comes with complications. Luthra’s daughter, Commander Kavya (Kiara Advani), is roped in too – and she’s not just any soldier; she’s Kabir’s ex. Awkward much?
Vikram, on the other hand, isn’t just another action hero in the chase. He shares a mysterious, deeply personal past with Kabir, the kind that makes you question whose side he’s really on. Meanwhile, Kabir’s not just dodging bullets; he’s playing a bigger, deadlier game of his own.
Lies, betrayal, redemption….get ready for War 2!

War 2 Movie Review:
War 2 is the kind of film that knows exactly why you bought the ticket- slick action, star power, and a whole load of spy-universe hype. On that front, Ayan Mukerji delivers a decently entertaining ride.
Where War 2 truly soars is in its action design; from adrenaline-pumping chase sequences to stylishly choreographed fights, it’s a visual treat. But when it comes to the emotional beats, the film stays surface level.
Hrithik Roshan is in top form as Agent Kabir. He oozes charisma, nails the combat choreography, and owns the screen whenever he is in frame. Jr NTR is a solid physical presence and absolutely sells the fight sequences, although in the heavier, emotional moments, he does come across a bit wooden. Still, their on-screen dynamic, which blends rivalry and brotherhood, forms the beating heart of the film. Their friendly-turned-competitive dance-off in Jaanab-e-Aali is exactly the kind of over-the-top fun you would expect in this big-budget entertainer.
Speaking of music, Jaanab-e-Aali is a definite crowd-pleaser, but the other big track, Aavan Jaavan, feels disappointingly generic. In a movie that thrives on swagger, you would expect a chartbuster that sticks in your head for weeks, but that is not quite what we get here.

War 2 Movie Review:
Kiara Advani does well with what she is given, but ‘what she is given’ is not much. She is charming and holds her own in the flashback portions, although the chemistry with Hrithik in those scenes feels a little too staged and cheesy. Both actors are far more grounded and natural in the present-day sequences. Unfortunately, once the central conflict takes over, Kiara’s role gets sidelined, leaving Hrithik and NTR to shoulder most of the drama and tension.
The big confrontation in the climax borders on overkill. It is the kind of face-off where you think, “Okay, one more punch and they are both done,” yet somehow, the actors sell it. The ending montage with the duo is quite fun though, and the post-credits tie-in to Alpha in a neat little tease for what comes next.
Bottom line? War 2 is not perfect. It is not the most emotionally rich spy drama out there. But if you are here for the action, the star power, and a couple of fun surprises, you will leave the theatre feeling like you got your money’s worth.
