Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer romantic comedy Param Sundari appears to be finding its footing at the box office after a modest opening.
With mixed-to-positive reviews fueling steady word-of-mouth, the film’s domestic collections have shown a clear upward trend.
On Sunday, the film collected ₹11.04 crore net in India — an 11% rise from Saturday and nearly 40% higher than its Friday debut. This brings its opening weekend domestic total to ₹28.48 crore net.
Trade sources reveal that Param Sundari is performing well overseas too, particularly in the US and UK, markets where Indian family dramas and romances traditionally connect strongly. The film has reportedly earned over $1.1 million (approx. ₹11 crore) overseas, pushing its worldwide opening weekend total to ₹43 crore. In doing so, it has already surpassed the lifetime global earnings of Dhadak 2 (₹36 crore). However, it still trails far behind Saiyaara, which stormed the box office in July with a ₹117 crore opening weekend and a staggering ₹570 crore (and climbing) global total.
Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Param Sundari blends cross-cultural romance with themes of love in the tech age. The film also features Sanjay Kapoor, Renji Panicker, Siddhartha Shankar, Manjot Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee.
