Ajay Devgn starrer De De Pyaar De 2 has gained strong momentum over its first weekend, thanks largely to growing word-of-mouth.
According to box office trackers, the film collected a robust ₹15.21 crore on Sunday (Day 3), registering a 10.45% jump over Saturday’s earnings of ₹13.77 crore.
With this surge, the three-day domestic net total stands at ₹38.43 crore. Even without discounted ticket pricing, the film has nearly matched the opening weekend of its predecessor, De De Pyaar De (2019), which had made ₹38.54 crore including paid previews. On a gross basis, the weekend collection is about ₹45.34 crore, after accounting for taxes.
Importantly, De De Pyaar De 2 has now achieved the third-highest opening weekend for a romantic film in India in 2025, surpassing the box office haul of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
The film’s Sunday jump indicates that audiences are responding positively — especially family and multiplexgoers — which bodes well for its future performance. Despite stiff competition from other new releases, DDPD2 remains a top choice among moviegoers this weekend.
If it keeps up this pace, the sequel could close in on higher echelon romantic films of the year. For now, Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s comedy-drama is riding high on opening weekend success, with its box office trajectory firmly in an upward arc.
