So what went wrong? It all traces back to Don 3. After the massive success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer reportedly decided to exit Farhan’s much-awaited Don 3.
Instead, the actor is fast-tracking a totally different project, Pralay, a zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta. The film is expected to go on floors between July and August 2026.

The reason behind the move actually makes sense. Ranveer is said to be keen on avoiding getting boxed into the gangster-action zone for too long. After back-to-back intense roles, he is clearly craving a genre shift. Zombies over gangsters? Honestly, we see the vision.
But while Ranveer’s career choice seems strategic, it may not have gone down well with Farhan. Reports suggest that things turned sour soon after the exit, with Farhan hitting the unfollow button on Instagram. Interestingly, Ranveer still continues to follow Farhan on Instagram, which has only added fuel to the speculation. Maybe this rift is one-sided for now.

Adding to the buzz, industry chatter claims that Farhan has temporarily put Don 3 on the back burner. Instead, he may be focusing on Jee Le Zaraa, a long-pending project that has been waiting for its moment for ages.
