Bollywood’s newest behind-the-scenes drama is serving full masala – Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, and a very messy Don 3 fallout.

It all started when Ranveer Singh officially exited Don 3. Things escalated quickly when Farhan Akhtar unfollowed Ranveer on Instagram, because in 2026, that is basically a public declaration of war.

Soon after, Excel Entertainment reportedly slapped Ranveer with a Rs 40 crore compensation demand, citing sunk development costs and delays.

Ranveer, however, is not backing down. As per sources, his camp insists the exit was purely due to creative differences and that he is under no legal obligation to pay anything. According to sources close to the actor, Don 3 never had a bound script in place. Ranveer says he allegedly waited nearly three years as the project stayed stuck in limbo while Farhan juggled multiple commitments, including his acting career. Ranveer also felt the script never lived up to the stature promised to him when he signed on.

The drama gets spicier. Ranveer also claims that Farhan was never open to feedback and had trouble incorporating key subplots. Adding fuel to the fire, his camp alleges that Excel was quietly exploring Hrithik Roshan as a replacement and only came back to Ranveer after the massive success of Dhurandhar, hoping to cash in on his renewed momentum.

Meanwhile, Excel Entertainment tells a very different story. Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani insist Ranveer approved the script at multiple stages. They claimed that his exit late in the process, after they had already invested heavily in pre-production, caused serious financial losses. They also raised eyebrows over Ranveer’s alleged on-set demands, including seven vanity vans, a daily DJ, and expenses for an extended staff of nearly 28 people.

For now, it’s a classic case of Bollywood he-said-he-said. Don 3 may be on pause, but this off-screen drama is already raging hard!
