Bollywood’s global queen Deepika Padukone knows her worth and she is clearly not here for just anything. The actress, who made her Hollywood debut back in 2017 with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, recently found herself at the centre of fresh Hollywood buzz.

Rumours were flying that Deepika was being considered for Season 4 of HBO’s hit black comedy series The White Lotus. For the unversed, the show follows rich guests and resort staff over one chaotic week at a fictional luxury hotel chain, mixing drama and dark humour in every season. Naturally, fans were excited at the thought of Deepika checking into The White Lotus universe.

But here’s the deal-breaker. Auditions were mandatory for The White Lotus, as the makers preferred to test everyone before signing them on. But Deepika refused to go through the audition route. And just like that, the much-talked-about opportunity quietly slipped away!

Nevertheless, Deepika’s work calendar is busy back home. Up next, she reunites with Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King. It also stars Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, with Abhishek Bachchan playing the antagonist.
She will also team up with Allu Arjun for Atlee’s much-awaited project, tentatively titled AA22xA6.
Looks like Hollywood can wait. Deepika clearly has bigger, bolder plans right at home.
