The niece of famed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui reportedly filed a complaint against his brother who is also her her uncle in New Delhi at Jamia police station. The actor himself is no stranger to harassment scandals as he is currently tied in a messy divorce against estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui. Aaliya says that supposedly neither he nor his brothers know how to respect women and she then accused him of publicly humiliating her.
His niece states that she was only but a child when the unfortunate event occurred.
“I have filed a complaint about sexual harassment by my uncle when I was nine years old. My parents were divorced when I was two years old, so I had a stepmother. I was tortured a lot. As a child I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realized it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too,”
Reports say that Nawazuddin’s niece spoke with him over this issue but rather than sensitively handling it, the actor apparerntly chose to ignore her plight and disturbingly reacted saying, “chacha hai, aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte” which translates to “He is your uncle, he would never do this.”
His wife Aaliya took to twitter and reacted to this news with a couple of tweets. One of them saying, “Who knew about this offence & kept quiet, time will tell. Let’s see who is finally punished for CRIME & for NON-REPORTING & Who will be “LET-GO”. Image & Reputation of NONE is more important then life & safety of a child. SAD. The child had to stand for herself without support.”
