2011’s blockbuster movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ didn’t fail to impress the audiences with its stellar cast and their performances.
Now Vidya Balan’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ co-star Arya Banerjee was found dead inside her residence in South Kolkata.
According to Hindustan Times reports, on Friday morning, the 35-year-old actress, daughter of late sitarist Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
While Arya, originally named Devdutta Banerjee, was found lying in her bedroom with blood and vomit oozing from her nose and mouth, the police said that there were no injury marks on her body.
A forensic team that spent over an hour at the residence ruled out foul play. “Primarily there appears to be no foul play. The exact cause of death will be known when the post-mortem report reaches us,” a senior police officer said.
“Like every day her maid had come to work and when she didn’t get any response, she alerted her neighbors and the police were informed. The house was locked from inside. The investigation is on,” the senior police officer further revealed.
Reportedly, many empty liquor bottles were found in the room. Arya’s neighbors revealed that the actress had been living alone in her house with a dog while her sister lives in Singapore.
Arya made her Bollywood debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ in 2010. She had also acted in ‘The Dirty Picture’ in 2011.
