Storyline

Radhe (Salman Khan) is an encounter specialist who likes his identity to be unknown unless it’s the bad guy in front of him. Avinash Abhyankar (Jackie Shroff), is the Assistant Commissioner of Police who plays a comical role in the film and keeps a wary eye on Radhe who seems to be hitting it off with his sister Diya (Disha Patani).

Radhe goes on a mission with the main objective being the eradication of drugs and drug traffickers. After learning the news of many young students committing suicide and accidentally killing themselves from a narcotic overdose, he makes it his pursuit to put a stop to this.

Amidst his expedition, Radhe is also trying to keep his identity from Diya while Avinash too is trying his best to keep his little sister unaware of the two of them working together.

What Went Wrong With Radhe?

We mean no harm when we say this but Radhe is an extremely disproportionate film with a very amateur storyline. Or maybe we’re tired of seeing Salman Khan take over the same roles time and time again. Being a remake of the highly appreciated 2017 Korean film ‘The Outlaws’, it somewhere did not pass as a justified remake. Salman Khan and Disha Patani’s age difference is the talk of netizen town and we too feel a little uncomfortable watching the superstar romance one of our generation’s top actresses.

Disha Patani too was a little under as compared to her top-notch performances in her films like ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and ‘Malang’ to name a few. On the other hand, we are not sure if ‘under’ is the appropriate term to use or conclude that the film in its entirety was a bunch of people overacting. Randeep Hooda is the exception of course. Hooda is playing the role of a gangster called Rana and he marks the bullseye with this character. Randeep is known for his versatility and nothing less was proven. The long messy locks and the stone-cold murderous face were his highlights. Sadly, Hooda received much less screentime than what we expected, being the saving grace of the film.

Arjun Kanungo marks his debut in this film and he plays the part of a drug dealer named Mansoor. Arjun too has done a commendable job with the film and being his first big role, the singer was quite natural with his acting. We assume that’s credited to the stunner acting he displays in his music videos. Either way, it is a crowd pleaser.

Hit or Miss?

Looking back at all of Salman Khan’s major performances, we feel this one could’ve been avoided. Khan’s film 2009 ‘Wanted’ is of a similar wardrobe and acting concept with the typical bad boy bandana and funny dialogues which is a much better film to watch. However, Radhe wasn’t an all bummer. We do have a few other performances to look forward to in the movie.
