Fans are eagerly awaiting Shahid Kapoor’s digital debut with ‘Sunny’ web series.
It was recently reported that he had allegedly signed Ali Abbas Zafar’s thriller film as well.
As per previous buzz, it was being rumoured that Shahid would headline the Hindi remake of ‘Soorarai Pottru‘.
The original action drama was a fictionalised version of the book ‘Simply Fly’, based on the life of Air Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath. Coming back to the adaptation – if the latest reports are to be believed then it looks like Shahid is being replaced by Akshay Kumar!
A source told Bollywood Hungama – “It’s a pan India film and the story needs to be witnessed by everyone. Because the makers (actor Suriya and Guneet Monga) have the rights to the biopic, they have now planned to go big with Akshay Kumar on board. Yes, they narrated the story to Akshay again and he loved it. He has already given his verbal nod to the project and the team is waiting to lock in on the dates and other modalities.”
The source also added that though Shahid was the initial choice, the makers had to move on as the Kabir Singh star was asking for remuneration of Rs. 30 crores along with certain profit share!
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is arriving soon on the big screen – Bell Bottom will be out in theatres on August 19, 2021 – in 3D!
