In search of condoms to ‘do the deed’ with the woman he loves, Lucky ends up buying everything except for condoms. The reason? Judgemental looks from the shopkeeper and the other customers. However, in a life-changing event, Lucky is supposed to assist Sultan (Abhishek Banerjee) and Minus (Ashish Verma), two goons, and help him steal boxes of supplies from a truck they believe contains electronic items as a get-rich-quick plan. What they don’t expect is the boxes to be filled with condoms. That’s their open window into a richer life.

What do we think?

Helmet is a social satire and a situational comedy that talks about the ‘condom’ which is still considered to be taboo to ask for. Aparshakti Khurana has naturally done a wonderful job in turning a comedy into an extremely important message-giving film. Helmet pinpoints at the unnecessary conservative lifestyle Indians lead.

Helmet' Movie Revie: Quirky Idea Falls Flat!

Bringing up a topic such as condoms, and that too throughout the whole movie, is a never done before course. It is commendable that the makers have gone the extent to educate the masses on STD prevention, safety and the whole ‘sex’ taboo in general. Aparshakti, who scored his first lead role with this film, is a delight to watch. He laughs, we laugh. Another performance worthy enough to mention is that of Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the best supporting character. In a film like this, we think there couldn’t have been a more suitable actor for the role.

Hit or Miss?

An absolute hit! We need more such films and it’s a necessity to bring about a few changing films that alters the course of cinema and mentality.
