EXCLUSIVE: Suniel Shetty On Fitness: ‘I Didn’t Know How To Act, But My Body Gave Me Everything’
In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Suniel Shetty dropped some serious truth bombs about fitness, and no, it’s not just about lifting weights or flaunting six-pack abs. For the action star turned wellness icon, fitness goes far beyond what happens in the gym. It’s a way of life.
“I Don’t Just Go To Gym, I Bring The Gym Home With Me” – Suniel Shetty On Fitness
“I’m not someone who just goes to the gym and only considers that fitness,” he shared. “I bring the gym home with me. When I eat, I eat like a gym-goer. When I walk, I carry that gym mindset.”
Suniel’s mornings begin when most of us are still deep in dreamland. “My day starts at 5:30 AM. Unless I go to the gym, my day doesn’t begin,” he said.
And he doesn’t mean just doing a few crunches and calling it a day. He lives it. He breathes it. Even when others might clock out after an hour-long workout, Suniel stays in the zone. He’s not a fan of people who sweat it out in the gym only to blow it all later with bad habits. “Some people work out for an hour, then want alcohol at night. Then, they’re abusive, they fight all day,” he pointed out, calling out the hypocrisy with no filter.

But where does all this discipline come from? The answer is deeply personal.
“My body gave me everything,” he said with sincerity. “Otherwise, what did Suniel Shetty have? I could never have become an actor. I didn’t know how to act. My Hindi was bad.”
“Today, mental fitness is the biggest issue for kids,” he noted. A reminder that real wellness starts from within.
