Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur might just be the newest duo sparking romance rumours in town.
Speculation began after Dhanush was spotted at Mrunal’s birthday celebration on August 1.
Prior to that, he flew to Mumbai to attend a special screening of Son of Sardaar 2, starring Mrunal Thakur and Ajay Devgn. A video from the event, shared on X, shows the two engaged in a warm conversation, with Mrunal leaning in to whisper something to Dhanush — prompting fans to wonder, “Are Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur dating?”
Back in July, Mrunal Thakur was also seen at a party hosted by writer-producer Kanika Dhillon to celebrate Dhanush’s upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, which also stars Kriti Sanon and is directed by Aanand L. Rai.
On July 3, Kanika shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, offering glimpses from the evening. The first picture featured Mrunal and Dhanush smiling together, with the Tere Ishk Mein team visible in the background. Her caption read: “Our hearts are full! Our OG Raanjhanaa in the house Dhanush — we love you! With friends old and new – big smiles, bigger hearts! Grateful for the memories.”
So far, neither Dhanush nor Mrunal has commented on the relationship rumours.
Dhanush was previously married to Aishwaryaa, daughter of Rajinikanth. The couple separated in 2022 after 18 years together. They first met in 2003 on the release day of his film Kadhal Kondaen.
On the work front, Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, is set to release on November 28, while Mrunal Thakur and Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 premiered on August 1.
