War 2 Day 1 Box Office: Opens With 52.5 Crore

According to Sacnilk, the film raked in ₹52.5 crore on Day 1. Here’s how that pie is sliced: Hindi brought in ₹29 crore, Telugu pulled a massive ₹23.25 crore, and Tamil chipped in with ₹0.25 crore.

Now, here’s the interesting bit. While ₹52.5 crore is an excellent opening, the Hindi numbers are noticeably lower compared to the first War back in 2019. That one, led by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, opened at ₹53 crore, with a jaw-dropping ₹51 crore from Hindi alone.

Pathaan Still The Biggest YRF Spy Movies Opener

So, what’s going on? Well, War 2 marks Jr NTR’s big Bollywood debut, and his star power in the Telugu fanbase is undeniable. That explains why Telugu collections are through the roof this time.

In the YRF Spy Universe scoreboard, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan still wears the crown with a mind-blowing ₹57 crore opening (₹55 crore from Hindi itself). But hey, the game’s just begun for War 2.

One factor to keep in mind is that the film’s not having the stage all to itself. Rajinikanth’s Coolie also released and went full throttle with around ₹65 crore on Day 1.

Now all eyes are on the weekend to see whether it powers up or slows down. Grab your popcorn; this box office race is just getting started.
